Competition Bass Mounts
Taxidermy
Competition Bass Mounts Taxidermy is located just outside of Tucson, Arizona. This small business was established by Louie Avila as a hobby which later evolved into a part-time business. As an avid largemouth bass fisherman, Louie began to learn the craft in order to mount his own fish. As more time and equipment were invested into his hobby, and numerous requests from fellow fishermen and friends began to come in, he decided to make it an official enterprise, and Competition Bass Mounts Taxidermy was born.
Competition Bass Mounts Taxidermy is unique in that Louie specializes only in largemouth bass , traditional skin mounts as well as replicas and, because of this unique specialty, each fish is prepared with the greatest attention to detail thus portraying that "Competition quality" look!
Several years ago Louie attended taxidermy school in the state of Montana where he took a course in advanced fish taxidermy techniques to further hone his skills.
Competition touches include high quality glass eyes, specific air-brush painting for individual fish and correct pose and proper fin placement making each fish a unique mount.
Competition Bass Mounts Taxidermy is still a small business, it is truly a hobby business done for the love of the sport....each fish is done one at a time - each given a craftsman's time and attention not commonly found in commercial taxidermy operations.
We appreciate your visit and hope you enjoy browsing our site.
